The international conference Basic Income at a Time of Economic Upheaval was the first collaboration between the US and Canadian chapters of BIEN. 

I was invited to give a keynote addresses at this inaugural event, along with Brazilian Senator Eduardo Suplicy and Professor Guy Standing (then at the University of Bath).
